FAQ

  • We are open for booked hacks and pony rides. We will announce soon on our Facebook page when the farm will be open to other visitors.

  • Yes a horse riding helmet must be worn at all times with the appropriate chin strap/harness secured. This is for your own safety and insurance purposes.

  • Not yet, but we are planning this for the future

  • Long trousers, closed toe shoes and sunscreen/rain jacket (depending on time of year). We do have riding boots available.

  • No for safety reasons, you would have to do a walk ride. The ride must be at the level of the least experienced rider. We recommend booking separate rides if you have a group with mixed abilities.

  • Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your scheduled ride time so we can get you fitted with a helmet and on your horse/pony in time to leave at your scheduled ride time.

  • Your ride time will be reduced by the amount of time you are late. We need to keep our schedule for riders who may be booked after you on time.

  • We can accomodate riders upto 90KG

  • Sorry no. We only have English tack and our horses are trained accordingly.

  • Sorry no. We have to conserve our space for future rescue horses and donkeys.

  • Yes, liability insurance is a requirement of a Portuguese Tourism License.

  • It’s too hot during the day in July and August. It’s not in the interests of our horses welfare to work in high temperatures. It’s also no fun for you to ride when it’s extremely hot.

  • Yes, we are always need vounteers whether to groom horses, poo pick paddocks or give some TLC to our animals. Please visit our Volunteer page or further information.

  • Lagos Horse Riding is a trading name of Blind Cat Enterprises, Unipessoal LDA.  All profits from Lagos Horse Riding are donated to our sister non-profit Associação LHD Rescue (Lagos Horse & Donkey Association).
